Communication between people and the skills of communication we each naturally possess, offer a critical way to examine our personal and social worlds.

Increasingly, communication skills and systems are regarded as central to all learning, all decision making and the growth of every human life.

Communication ethics is a disciplinary approach to learning grounded in easy-to-use methods and tools.

Combining communication ethics [5D] learning and decision-making supports people at a revolutionary moment of history. Everything is changing, literally.

Whether speaking and listening, reading and writing, creative and critical thinking, research and publication, online and offline learning and political and media studies, communication skills are foundational.

Communication Ethics History

In the 1960s, international researchers responded to the ‘century of wars’ (20th C.), by re-situating communicative potential as the centre for social-individual intelligence.

People learn from each-other naturally and culturally, while communication theory and practice are applied to all domains of human activity.

These two scientific insights 1) individual communication ability as the basis for human potential 2) mass communication distortion as the reason for failure, established via formal research, something new.

What emerged was a powerful ‘ethics of life’ with its co-equal logics of communication.’ Together ground for all citizens — with rights to life– to examine their own lives and public rights to life.

[5D] VisualLogic

For each learner the question is how to evaluate what is right, what is true and how to construct useful lives within our dynamic digital age.

SCE’s [5D] Visuallogic supports learners to examine communication, information and data using easy-to-use visualisation tools and data science.

[5D] identifies and visualises underlying assumptions and arguments for both creative and critical analyses, using scientifically valid methods.

We welcome digital designers and data scientists to help the School build its [5D] VisualLogic once funding is completed via our Kickstarter Campaign.
